Sarah - Office Coordinator
I have been in the healthcare field since 1995, practicing as a certified medical assistant, and front office administrative assistant. I can truly say that the transition into the field of dentistry has been a great pleasure for me.
My goal as the Office Coordinator is to make sure that each person that calls or walks in the front door is made to feel welcome and cared for. Its easy to relax in our homey reception area, complete with a juice bar consisting of Starbucks frappuccinos, fruit juices, hot coffee and tea, and much more.
In my free time I enjoy painting abstract art, listening to live music, taking naps and spending time with loved ones.
Kim, EFDA - Financial Coordinator
I have been a dental assistant for over 16 years and love the variety my career gives me. I began as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, and have recently transitioned into the business side of dentistry.
As Financial Coordinator for our office, my primary function is to help our patients find an easy and comfortable way to pay for their dental investment. If financing is needed, I am able to offer some great options including interest-free for up to 18 months or up to 60 months at a moderate interest rate. I have an office with which to keep our discussions private. I have a willing ear to help patients that may need a little more time understanding their recommended treatment, how that impacts their finances and to help them find a way to make the investment in their oral health. In what could be an uncomfortable or difficult situation, my goal is to be compassionate and communicate solutions with you. Part of my job also includes the dental insurance area such as finding out the benefits, submitting and tracking insurance claims. I treat our patients like I would want to be treated.
Outside the office I enjoy spending time with my family and anything outdoors.
Kalen, RDH - Dental Hygienist
I grew up in Corvallis, Oregon, and moved to Arizona for college. I graduated in May 2008 with my Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. I just returned to the great Northwest and I'm looking forward to all the adventures it holds.
I live in downtown Portland. I enjoy all that it has to offer, such as music, art and entertainment. I really enjoy home decor and crafts, such as painting, sewing and collaging. I also like the outdoors, including hiking, rafting and boating.

I am a Portland, Oregon native and a recent graduate of Mt. Hood Community College. I have over 9 years of experience in the dental and/or oral surgery profession. I receive great satisfaction in the daily interaction with my wonderful patients.
I've enjoyed volunteering for the SMART (Start Making a Reader Today) program, and now the Compassion Dental Clinics. I also take great pleasure in spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy watching sports, playing volleyball, and biking in the summertime.
Kathy, EFDA - Treatment Coordinator
I graduated from Old Dominion University, Virginia, in 1987 as a certified Dental Assistant. I relocated back to the west coast in 1995 and have resided in Portland since. My travels have provided me with great diversity in my field.
I enjoy working with Dr. Carothers because unlike most practitioners, he provides all aspects of dentistry. This allows me to utilize my skills and give our patients the convenience of not having to be referred to a specialty practice. His diversity and talent, along with his quality patient care, keep it motivating and interesting.
You will find that my co-workers are all experts in their field. Our goal as an office is to provide you with a warm and welcome atmosphere. Our office is a place where you will feel comfortable and well cared for from the moment you arrive.
When I'm not in the office I enjoy the love of my family, camping, boating, motorcycle riding, music, and life in general.

I grew up in the Northwest, in both Oregon and Washington. I am new to Dr. Dave's team as of September, 2008. So far I am having a great time, helping to create a comfortable dental atmosphere so that your dental experience is pleasant and fun.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and my dog and my horse.
